What A Day
Had my first uni interview today, at Norwich School of Art and i’ve got a really bad feeling about it. I applied there last year and got in, the guy who interiewed me acted like I was God’s gift to art and offered me a place on the day. Had the same guy this time but he was really unimpressed, got the impression he thought I was unfocused and I had to try and convince him Illustration...

Thoughts on Today
Have had what feels like “something in my eye” since I got up at 8 this morning. Decided I must have scratched it. Took my make-up off 2 hours ago and my eye hasn’t stopped crying since. Gonna dig out my pirate patch for my interview tomorrow. But it’s ok cos it’s for a place at Art School, and they favour the eccentric type. Unimpressed with the new White Lies...

Oh My.
Fuck every other band on the planet, it’s all about The Vaccines. People are saying their debut is gonna be better than the new Strokes record. I think they might be right. Just come back from seeing them at Kings College in London, and I can safely say they are the best new band in Britain.

When I move to London/Glasgow/Brighton I won’t have to pay £12 every time I want to go to a gig. And then I will have more money, for more gigs.

A Place to Bury Strangers - A Band to Educate You...
Preparing some photos for my portfolio which prompted me to plug this band!! Will upload the pictures after this post. To say “A band to educate you in live music” is quite a statement. What I mean when I say that is if you see a lot of bands and are into live music, you should go and see them! They are how Live music should be. Almost as something to check off your list. The most...

James on Daddy's Gone in this weeks NME 29/01/11 →
fuck-yeah-glasvegas: Every time we’ve interviewed him, talk invariably turns to “Daddy’s Gone”, and the guilt that followed writing such a one-sided account of a real story, and having it flung before the world, hurting feelings and being unable to take it back. The way that art inevitably cannibalises life as it as it creates. Through the process of writing EUPHORIA /// HEARTBREAK \ it’s...
